The Strategy Session at ELEVATE Strength & Performance is incredibly valuable. Right from the start you will understand what we’re about and how invested we are in you achieving your personal goals.

We will start off with a tour of the gym while we get to know each other. You may meet some of our staff and members and observe any training going on.

After the tour we’ll head to our consultation room where we’ll go over your Strategy Session Questionnaire, which covers things like medical, health and injury history.  Previous injury is one of the biggest predictors of future injury.  We want to find any “red flags” that may show up during your training.

We’ll talk about your sleep, stress, and nutrition, as well as previous training and the things you’ve been most recently trying to accomplish - your goals.  The Roadmap also gets into your goals with more than just a few words on paper.  We dig into the “why” of your goals.  What’s really driving you?  This is HUGE with regards to staying the course to look, move, and feel amazing!  Because, at ELEVATE Strength & Performance, it’s truly build around you!

Moving into the physical portion of the consultation, we utilize the Functional Movement Screen (FMS).  The FMS is a standardized ranking and grading system, involving seven tests, to expose any physical limitations or weak links (mobility, stability, and gross movement patterns) that increase the possibility of injuries.  This information helps us to put you in the best position to be successful in your training.

With all of this information in hand, we’re well on our way to being able to write your first program.  The next step is to schedule your personal orientation.  This session is all about learning the ropes here at ELEVATE Strength & Performance.  You’ll go through our movement preparation (aka warm up) before learning how we teach the squat, hinge (deadlift), push up, and inverted row, and finish off with a workout using the things you’ve learned.  Between the movement prep, these four basic movements, and getting a little sweat, you’ll have the understanding needed to get rolling on your first day of training with your customized program at ESP!
