Fix Your Kettlebell Clean & Snatch (01/17/2024)

How is your exercise routine going this year?

Is there anything specific you are working on?

At ELEVATE, we have members who have progressed from the Kettlebell 2-Arm Swing to the 1-Arm Swing and have met our standards to learn the Kettlebell Clean and/or the Snatch.

When learning these three kettlebell skills there are issues and obstacles that many people encounter.

Our intention is to teach these skills efficiently so that our members can perform the movements with technically proficiency. Sometimes a session or two fixes an issue, other times learning a new technique can be frustrating and take months.

Today’s newsletter is an 8-minute video breaking down the similarities and differences of the Kettlebell Swing, Clean and Snatch with certain aspects of each to consider, from the hinge position to your arm path or arc of the kettlebell.

The video goes over the most common technical points we find ourselves covering frequently.

Your goal should not be to remember and implement ALL the cues, but pick one that will be your focus to work on that will have the greatest impact on your performance.

Maybe you need to push harder into the floor with your whole foot for a stronger, more powerful swing.

Maybe you’re working on your hip extension timing in relation to your arm action.

Maybe you’re struggling with the path of the kettlebell during the snatch.

Whatever it is you’re working on, I hope you enjoy this video and find it useful. Please share it with anyone you know who trains with kettlebells.
